I have a 16GB set that I'm not using. Realistically you will have minimal gainz in gaming, as 8GB does the trick for the most part. In saying that, I mostly see more than 8GB usage when gaming at 1440p. THe ram I have can run at 2133MHz and was some of the better stuff on the market a few years ago. If you're going to upgrade your gpu then get a gtx1080 or better as your system will support that level (or better) of gpu before bottlenecking the cpu.
