Yeah it ain't cheap, that's for sure.

You're pretty much looking at nearly $500 to get the game and entry level wheel/shifter/pedals.

I think it's worth it but it's not for everyone.

Edit: I always forget that you can game on pc with a controller. That wouldn't be too bad.

So what's a controller setup worth? It'd have to be only 150 to 200 eh? I reckon it would be great for streaming to the tv with a steam box or whatever.

I raced gran turismo for years with a controller and loved it.

$50 for a wired xbox controller

$130 for wireless and dongle

Am running an nVidia Shield on the TV - works fantastic if you've got an nVidia GPU in your PC

I have a wireless Xbox controller cos cheep old bastard

Did look into a wheel

Got all excited when @.Stripes. got one from JB hifi and almost went out and bought one

But I reneged when I realised I would have to build something to fasten the wheel to- - - - - - -

Then a race seat- - - - - - -

Then a $2000 box that would move my race seat ( like @Rab )

Then probably  a divorce - - - - - -

Just buy a ex taxi fg for cheap, fit the racing wheel in place of the steering wheel and mount your monitor on the dash.

Job done for a grand or so :wwww:

Plus you might even get some spare parts when your car needs them.

Did have fun today in the V8 luxobarge

In manual mode, it reved on the downchange, or gave the illusion that it did, which was cool.

I was running  it at about 4 to 5k in 2nd and 3rd

Made me smile

Did have the window down to listen to that V8 goodness, but not much noise cos standard  crap exhaust.

Coming back down the range I managed to be a bit smoother, so Mrs BCB didn't  swear at me :hysteric:

Looking forward to getting  back  home to play Project  cars 2 now

I'd buy a console but they aren't that great compared to a high end pc.

I used to be butthurt that I couldn't play gt6 or whatever but the past few years of game and hardware development have made pc gaming my preferred choice. It's pretty bloody pricey though.

A console is only 20% of the initial outlay and I'd go that route if I had to or didn't care about all dem fps's and all dem k's.
