This is gonna be long winded boys. sorry in advance As in previous posts, I got a new MB, CPU, RAM and GPU. This is the steps to work out I was missing stuff. Opened the GPU box first. I was bloody surprised by the size of this guy As you can see below, I was going to have issues getting this bad boy in the case. The reservoir was in the way. So I decided to wait until I had all the parts. I removed the back plate from the old machine. Removed the original back plating from the new motherboard, only to realize that the back plate was not gonna fit. I was lucky enough that PLE had them in stock for $1. New board with new back plate and mounting screws Opened the CPU box and what a let down. total disappointment. so much anticipation killed. Can you spot it? So many trees killed for nothing. AMD you have disappointed me. Shiny. My precious Look at the quality of this motherboard. It surprised me big time. in all of my IT career, nothing has surprised me like this board. I had ordered a new bracket for the Waterblock. just forgot to order the backplate for the MB as mentioned before. I split the Waterblock and replaced the new mounting bracket and installed the RBG. I cleaned the inside while I was at it. All nice and clean. Proceeded to install her in the case, then realized I was missing something. He is a big boy Previous PSU was moved into gaming machine for the son. I had no PSU. These guys know how to box stuff. they know how to make you feel good too. I was surprised with what was included in a PSU box. Fridge magnets, Stickers..... This is so well stuff into the box. so compact. They made me feel like a mechanic, actually. PSU was installed and it was time to move on to installing the Pump and reservoir. Due to the size of the GPU, I had to shift it over. only managed to get 2 nuts and bolts in. See how close this is getting? Nothing else holding it down. I think the hardest part for me, was getting what tubing I had left and getting it all to work. I just wish I had measured up first and then cut piping. I got the piping cut before installing the GPU. piping was cut for the CPU first. 😞 I had an issue where one pipe was not long enough, and so I had to shuffle stuff around. previously I had both Radiators connected to each other, then the CPU and GPU was connected together. This time the CPU sits after the first radiator(on the right). Then the CPU connects to the second radiator(top). Finally when the GPU Waterblock arrives, it will be connected after the second radiator. Ignore the blue. it will be changed to RED as soon as I get the software installed. A bit difficult doing this remotely from work. Edited 27/02/21 03:21 AM by masda74
