Since I'm running Stablebit Drivepool on my server PC it's been trying to unload the drive it picked up as starting to fail, but my other drives were full... so I effectively had no storage left on my server... lame.

Ended up buying a couple of WD Red 10TB drives and a Pcie sata controller and jamming them in this evening. Not really how I'd planned on spending $1,000 at this point in time...but at least I can claim it on tax for uni and work, so there's that.

This one:

Was easy enough to setup and get up and running.

Shadow Protect FIR boxes

I use ShadowProtect on my server for backup - pretty happy with it so far (touch wood)

It can get a little complex when dealing with continuous incrementals and Image Manager, but I've had to use it to ground-up rebuilds a few times now over the years and it's just a life saver.

Last one was an Exchange server - rebuilt perfectly.

It lets me sleep at night.

Used to use Exetel back in the day - seems to be reasonably priced at the moment. Their support is...well, do-it-yourself. Not sure if that's changed.

I'd swap over, but for some reason Telstra(HFC) is giving me 80Mbps+ speeds on a 40Mbps plan and I don't want to loose that for an extra $10 a month

As with all telcos, end user experience can differ widely

Have used both Exetel and Telstra when it was ADSL

Switched to TPG for NBN

Unlimited downloads on highest speed

I get 93 to 95 Mbps day or night

I must have won the sweet spot lottery because I am FTTN

All dropouts I have experienced (not many) have been fixed by re-booting my modem

I have never needed to ring support

On the flip side, Telstra was terrible with my ADSL

Phone support just about always involved an hour of my time waiting and being pushed from one department to the next

That's the major reason I went with someone different for my NBN hook up
