1st time I copped that was ATI 9500pro

Was the same as the 9700 Pro, but firmware locked and half the price.

With an easy way to unlock the firmware.

Was the generation of the nVidia GeForce 4 4800?, the AMD Athalon etc

That gen of the GPU was ATI 9500/9700

Next was 9600/9800

My 9500, flashed to the 9700 firmware was close enough to the 9800 (9600/9800 was a huge failure) of the next gen (that generation was a fail for ATI - went a long way to how AMD bought them out) that I didn't need to upgrade

Needless to say - I flashed it into being a 9700Pro and then started overclocking.

Yep - I saw those glitches.

That was one of the generations where ATI/AMD had the perfect price/performance against the regular mob.

Half the price, twice the performance (exaggerated for effect)

(can't remember if it was Athalon 1200, 2400, XP????? that I was using)

Burnt me bad in the end - ATI/AMD fell off really bad after that, but I kept sticking with them as an option

Not going to fall for that again - will look at each gen as it happens.

You kids these days! It’s just space invaders

you read my mind. I was going to say exactly that. it is funny how they use those characters to show that the overclocked card is rooted.

You would have thought with a thinner DIE, that they would have resolved all these issues by now.

I somehow have the feeling that they have not perfected the manufacturing process just yet.

Once they do, we will see double the performance of their current cards right now.

They skipped from 14 to 10 didn't they?

RTX series are 12nm (which is just an optimized 16nm) so you can imagine there will be all kinds of kinks. I like what they are trying to do and it will be something in the next few years but it was rushed with these chipsets....

So I have played Apex Legends a few times. It is a co-op game. if you do not have mates to play with, then forget about it.

It is best to have 2 other team mates that you know and can talk to in discord.

The first 5 rounds destroyed me and put me off the game for a week, till some other mates invited me to play.

They showed me the ropes and how best to stick together. Then the fun began.

So I picked up the rest of my gear over the weekend. My new case barely fits in the boot. like mm to spare in the back.

The box with the case in it, weighs 22kg. like wtf.

To top it all off we renovating the computer room and so none of this gear is going to be touched for a week and a bit.

Fun times.
