I'm using an adaptor to run my nvme drive in an x4 slot as the m.2 slot in my board only runs at gen 2 speeds. I'm thinking that the failure is with the adaptor or the motherboard. Hopefully that will give it a good kick in the arse and let me get another half dozen years out of it lol. May even have enough headroom left over in it to setup a decent media server in another VM on the server for the home.
