Original Diablo demo was ~70 meg

Took the best part of the day to dowload - when no one called part way through and cut off the DL.

Winsock, trumpet, ATH0 etc - was bloody messy back then lol

All I wanted to do was look up porn later that night when the .bmp finished downloading - why did it have to be so hard.

lol those were the days...

yeah, the days of making a coffee while you waited for your PC to connect to the internet

those days I'm glad are gone for good.

my NBN hook up is fiber to the node

I was disappointed when I found out my area was not going to be fiber to the premises

but I must be in the sweet spot as far as distance from the node goes

100/40 unlimited data with TPG

so far so good

that's an understatement K31th

it's downright mindbogglingly excellent!

my workplace has FTTP and has exactly the same speed, give or take 1Mbps

Good thing about fttn is telstra and their original copper design as they put pits, mdf pillars everywhere so most houses are within 400mtrs of the a node which is why there is no problems getting the 100mb on it.

I dont see a problem with fttn except the copper its self as its no longer being replaced so eventually they will have to redesign the NBN network again.

Thanks liberals!!

If I am right the culprit if anyone is interested is update (KB 4012218)

microsoft are dogs for this, I don't get why they actively mess with peoples computers.

Did a build recently for a mate and it went smooth as butter except it wouldn't POST!  just at the moment where I started looking inside the computer my mate suggested that the monitor wasn't set to the HDMI input.....all good.

gtx1070/16gb ram/256gb samsung ssd/4tb hard drive haha I forget the processor but its mid to high range.

that red sata cable annoys me but you make do with what you have. this is a photo of it still in progress.

and hey MBAF, in regards to the FTTN NBN: with my EXFO maxtester 635 im finding that a lot of premises have very good service entering the home and then an electricians gone and done dodgy CRAP like this. Also they used side cutters to strip the black cable (incoming) which crushed the copper wires inside it - boils my blood.

Then there is heaps of pits like this around Perth. yellow fence around it and no lid.
