All good mate. They are easy to work on and you should have no trouble working out what you need to do with your fan.

Did you play with lego or duplo or blox as a kid?

If Lego then you'll have no trouble

If Duplo you should be ok, but ask for help with anything you're not sure of

If Blox then just buy a Mac and say that it's pretty and awesome because you may have trouble once you unscrew the case

so I ran firestrike @Puffwagon

first score I got 10016 at stock

second score 10940, that was with 400 MHz increase on memory & 150 MHz increase on the core

I used MSI Afterburner, seems to work better for me than Evga Precision

Sweet. I'm pretty sure my first scores were about this.

I ran mine stock this evening and got this http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/16326110?

I tried some oc'ing and got this http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/16326282? +80 on core for a total of 1534 Mhz and +575 on memory for 4179Mhz.

I have had a better result but not many gains for a lot more heat and stress. I think my mobo has issues for other reasons.

I was considering another 980 ti but after having 2 r9 290x's in crossfire (over 18000 in firestrike) I felt wary about an sli or crossfire config as there was constant stuttering and crashing issues.

I think I'll wait a few generations before I upgrade again.

so I noticed that my motherboard ram was only running stock  @ 1600 MHz, changed bios setting to XMP which bumps up the ram to 2100 MHz and run firestrike again, got a score of 11055.

so system memory speed has quite a large impact

My memory is rated to 2400 but it won't run there no matter what I do.

It seems like the best compromise where I have it all set now.
