Assetto Corsa, a car racing sim, no crap, just pure racing.

very challenging, had it for well over 12 months and have never beaten computer generated opponents when set to 100%

if you have a good graphics card you can crank the settings up to ultra and it looks pretty cool.

The engine sounds are also very realistic

having fun at Nordschleife in a BMW M3 GT2 , best time of 7:25

I take it that you have not played any of the fallout series games. I played 1+2+3+4.

I missed out on vagas cause I didnt know it existed.

The secret to the game is to save every 5 minutes.

This way you can go back if you shoot someone by accident.

Install the game and give it another go and see if you enjoy it this time.

nah never played the earlier ones. thought id chip in half way and have a crack looked good at the time. the box looked good too ahaha.

I dont know what rockstar has done to GTAV but I can't download latest update so I disabled network adaptor and still can't boot the game cause it can't connect to the internet!

 

Now I'm searching up on making it so I can play the thing offline. I knew this when buying the game but just didn't think they'd be such dickheads about it. Pretty sure I've found the solution anyway.

 

Haven't modified the installation files or anything and what pisses me off more is the update worked fine on a mates pc when he was using my internet.

 

I feel so sorry for anybody who is trying to play the latest games with limited internet connectivity. I miss old school games which didn't rely on the internet like a baby being fed by mama.

I havent played GTA for about a month, jumped on last night to do something and no updates was needed? mine  installs the updates automatically.

Ended up reinstalling the entire game and it works good.

 

Lucky I don't have to go through all the DVD's again, only the big initial update.

 

Love it with DS4windows, switching between mouse and keyboard to the controller really is the best of both worlds.

gta install was the biggest joke ever to install, took ages to do the dvds, then waited hours for the online bit to install. get farked.

So, one of the work stations at work was on its way to the skip bin the other day, I notices It has a Xeon sticker and said ill take thay and see what I can salvage. First of all, it was fine really, posted, booted. Came up hard drive about to fail once in Windows, never seen that error before. Run a segate diagnostic tool, S.M.A.R.T test fail and reporting errors, read/write speeds seems low at 100mb/s for a 7200rpm Baracuda. Shame, is 1TB and a good drive. Cant say I have seen one fail this way. Guess it had alot of use I dunno.

Back to it being a Xeon, I didn't know much about Xeons except they are more of a corporate CPU, same architecture as their consumer grade CPU's without onboard graphics, higher core counts/threads cache etc. So im thinking, even if this is a few years old it Should out perform my haswell I5 and have ecc memory. Well it's a Bloomfield W3505 Xeon with 6gb of ECC Memory and a nvidia quadro. A W3505 Xeon is a fkn, 2.53ghz, dual core with 4mb of L3 cache......
What the actual fark? So its essentially no better than a I3, probably worse as some I3'd have multi threading. So maybe on par with a pentium D. I really dont understand....other than the ECC memory and moterboard chipset I have no idea why anybody would even by this sh*t, All Xeons are not created equal, not the 8 core 16 thread monster I was hoping for......

MB has 2 sockets (only 1 CPU installed)

 

I think the deal with them is the EDC RAM and integrity etc rather than actual performance
