Is it me, but does it seem that parking spots are getting smaller and smaller.

I have had my car for 4 years and it seems that the spots are getting alot tighter to fit in as the years progress.

Some of the Canberra boys should know the JB HiFi, KFC etc carpark in Philip. I seriously had trouble fitting my previous Pulsar SSS in the car parking spots there. I'm so worried about parking my XR6T there, that I try and only go when I know it won't be full..

Too bloody right, that carpark is tighter than a nuns nasty!!

Luckily I live right near it and only go after normal hours when there are lots of free spots. I don't know what they were smokin' when they measured out the spaces.

Switch blades in the mags sounds like a good mod to invent and install. Have them extend at variable sizes to suit all needs. That should create a nice mess to the offenders damaging our beasts. Damn hard to invent something like that though. Oh well. Back to the drawing board.

OK so that's over the top. Any damage to any car boils my blood. People just have no respect. 9 times out of 10, if it's an accident, they are not honest enough to ever leave details. If it was me running into someone else, you can bet I'd leave details. I wouldn't be happy about it but geez, if only these people would accept some responsibility.

My attitude to parking in car parks is simple. Parking defensively has saved me getting dints in any of my cars. Here are my rules (which the missus is reasonably well versed in):

- If there's an 'end' space, I park there with loads of room away from the space next to me.

- I never park near 'trolley bays'.

- I try to park away from the centre entrances / shops so I am away from all the shopping trolleys going in and out.

- If the car park is not too full, I deliberately take up two spaces - if possible where there's only two spaces that are between two poles. I've never had anyone say anything to me about this practice but considering others are happy to hit my door with theirs and run away - costing me $500 a time, then they can all get stuffed.

- at the very least I will always park next to a pole, reverse in and then park very close to the pole - which has the added advantage of forcing people to go past only one side of my car which has lots of space.

- if I have a choice, I'll park beside or even between expensive or enthusiasts cars hoping they are decent enough not to slam my car with their doors. Of course I am hoping an apathetic SWMBO or GF of the owner isn't driving that car.

- If the car park is reasonably full or tight then I park out on the street and am happier walking.

I did, I parked against a concrete poll. At the end of the carpark.

I shall be double parking from now on.

Hi MissXR

Really sorry to see what's happened to the ute !

We're really paranoid about where the T is parked... Especially when you see how some clowns treat other peoples property ! :banghead:

Hopefully it will be just a matter of buffing the Expensive Daewoo :spit: paint off and replacing the clips...

Scootre,

People are soon going to think that my aim in life is to look for reasons to condemn others. But this is yet another of my pet hates (of which I have a lot of).

Gives me the sh*ts when people do this. It may have been "not too full" when you decided to use 2 spots....but things change. I hate having to take a packed lunch with me when I have to park the car in the next suburb because inconsiderate sons of b**ches think the "rules" don't apply to them. How many times do you see a hundred vacant spots at a shopping centre, but idiots chose to park their car where it says NO STANDING, NO PARKING etc etc etc.

Got that off my chest now....will go looking for something else to whine about.

Honest Gaza :banghead:
