I have bought a second hand 07 FPV f6 Tornado and I'm blessed in the fact that it's my first car.

Recently (driving from Perth to Geelong) my clutch went rock hard and then went straight to the floor. Dad managed to nurse her home.

I now need a replacement and I am getting various responses and quotes.

ive been quoted upwards of 5g from a ford dealer in Geelong and have also been told that no one does twin plates anymore.

Can anyone help and point in a good direction for a clutch similar to the factory clutch?

Are you sure it's clutch and not the actuation system?

AP Racing do sell refurb kits for the factory twin plates that are quite a bit less than 5k.

You're up for a couple of grand at least for a decent equivalent clutch.

Mal Woods or NPC do some really nice twin plates that would suit.

In answer to this question. Yep :Welcome2FordXR6t:

Tell Mal Wood (if you're speaking to them) about the exact symptoms you observed and they'll tell you what the actual problem is (most likely). The symptoms as you've written them here don't point to a clutch failure, in my opinion. It seems more likely to be what Ralph said: an actuation system fault.
