So got back for my break from work last night, go take the battery charger off and note greeny fluid covering everything around the battery.. it's eating into the paint on my aluminium cooler pipes and into the silicone hoses as well.

Took battery out and tried to wash everything off with bicarb solution as a start. Whatever painted parts it's contact it's turned the paint from nitro blue to a greeny colour.

Wtf do I do?! This happened to anyone else?

No idea tbh! Charged our other cars battery fine so. . Not too sure. Our power went out a few times while I was away so wondering if it did too many desulfation cycles etc and damaged it

As soon as I have time I think the game plan is just wash it all out, replace whatever pipes and hose clamps are f*cked, scrape off all the half eaten paint and repaint with anti rust paint (anyone know what type? We use galv at work but obviously that's on galv steel like unistrut) and then hopefully I can find a can of nitro paint to roughly touch up..

I'd really rather be doing something to improve the car if I'm gonna have to work on it. Sucks

Wet sand it, rust converter it, dry off and paint over should do it shouldn't it?

Yep essentially that's what I did. I just panicked at first it wasn't that bad in the end haha. Still need to replace turbo inlet pipe couldn't find a small enough reducer in shops might have to ebay it. Think it's 2" to 2.5" internal diameter

It's not leaking just looks sh*t with a few little acid holes melted into the pipe

Tiny little inlet on the fg turbo!

Pics of repairs?  Can't look any worse than my Bionic touch up under my spoiler :)
