There are different degrees of wear, like with any "consumable" item.

The symptoms get steadily worse (and more noticeable) over time to a point where the main diff bush is essentially doing nothing and you just get metal on metal clunks until you fix it.

That makes sense then. So then it's possible that mine aren't too bad if all I'm getting now is slight vibration and noise? I was planning to upgrade all the bushes to Superpro anyway later down the track.

So assuming I want to do that I'm looking at:

1. Differential Support Bush Kit  Polyelast Hybrid. KIT210K. Kit contains SPF3148PK x 1 & SPF3232PK x 1

2. Blade Control Arm Front Kit SPF3182K (Competition) or SPF3229K (Standard)

To suit FG 08 onwards

Is anyone able to give me a rough estimate of how much I should be looking at paying for both kits and labour for fitting and alignment?

When I finally get an LSD for the G6ET, I'm guessing I would be an idiot not to go for one of those at the same time?

Do the maths. Invest slightly more in the IMS DIff hat upgrade and never touch it again, or replace the diff support bushes every 18 months to 2yrs if your making decent power with decent tyres

If you pay for his flights and provide beer, apparently Ralph wiggum provides a fifo diff bush fitting service....?

Wonder if he does fifo tunes, getting on the piss and road tuning(in that order) sounds fun to me

Looks interesting but the problem is I don't know how to weld and that place is in Victoria. So I'd have to order the kit and find someone in Sydney who can do it. Wouldn't replacing the original bushes with Superpro be good enough? Car is still stock and will be for a while yet.

Do you even diff bush?

Get the independent Motorsports kit, you'll find a shop that will fit it.

Had a quick look and found a reputable diff shop in Sydney that has experience with fitting these. Now I'm no expert on differentials, but my understanding is that if I get this upgrade, it will only eliminate the need to replace the differential centre bush but I will still need to replace the differential pinion and blade control arm bushes separately. I might just pay the place a visit and get some more information.
