Hi All,

I'm looking to purchase a second hand 6GeT in the next few weeks. My budget is around 20k, maybe 21/22k at a stretch. I have some questions...

1) What years/kms would I be able to purchase for this amount? Looking on carsales I'd be in with a chance of buying a 2010/11 model. Is it better to target lower kms rather than the later models?

2) If a car is advertised at 25k ONO, generally speaking what would one expect to pay? Do people generally accept a few k less than what it is advertised at?

3) Is purchasing a car with big kms I.e >120,000km an issue if the car has been looked after?

4) Am I better off buying from a used dealer or privately (if I have the choice)

Thanks in advance for the advice

Personally I always go for lower klm

Beware of used car salesmen, if there is something wrong with the car they are very skilled at hiding it from even the most critical of buyers.

The asking price is always negotiable, you will find car yards are stingier than private sellers when it comes to move on the price.

@ 25K ONO means they want 20 to 22K, I would offer 19K and go from there as some private sellers are desperate for the cash, especially if a car yard has offered them less than 15K for it which is quite likely for a 16 year old car.

why are you so fixated on how many kays the car has done?

A car with 50 000 city kays will be more fkd than a car with 100 000 hwy kays
