My budget is around 20k, maybe 21/22k at a stretch. I have some questions... 1) What years/kms would I be able to purchase for this amount? Looking on carsales I'd be in with a chance of buying a 2010/11 model. Is it better to target lower kms rather than the later models? 2) If a car is advertised at 25k ONO, generally speaking what would one expect to pay? Do people generally accept a few k less than what it is advertised at? 3) Is purchasing a car with big kms I.e >120,000km an issue if the car has been looked after? 4) Am I better off buying from a used dealer or privately (if I have the choice) Thanks in advance for the advice Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/91913-need-advice-to-purchase-a-g6e/ Share on other sites

The asking price is always negotiable, you will find car yards are stingier than private sellers when it comes to move on the price. @ 25K ONO means they want 20 to 22K, I would offer 19K and go from there as some private sellers are desperate for the cash, especially if a car yard has offered them less than 15K for it which is quite likely for a 16 year old car. A car with 50 000 city kays will be more fkd than a car with 100 000 hwy kays 2 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/91913-need-advice-to-purchase-a-g6e/#findComment-1594159 Share on other sites

Again, the factor of seller honesty is a big thing.
