So I have a pic. Is this excessive oil that could have caused it to rub. A fanny hair of play up and down and back and forth.time for catch can maybe? Watch "Gtx3576r rubbing on front cover" on YouTube f*cked.
k31th less WHY; more WOT Site Developer 29,104 Member For: 16y 8m 27d Gender: Male Location: Melbourne Posted 23/04/16 07:24 AM Share Posted 23/04/16 07:24 AM I doubt it would be the oil that you can see as that looks like a "normal" amount... My theory is that sometimes the piping connection to the turbo doesn't have enough flex and it can eventually put enough sideways pressure on the compressor housing causing it to hit the edge of the compressor wheel blades... but that's only a guess. I remember seeing about the same amount of oil around the front of my turbo when I hadn't checked it in a long time.me turbo still going strong. Very strange considering you say there is not much shaft play

It's either noisy , run dry on oil, excessive heat that's about it ....

Oil line seemed slow even with the filter off. Did find a rear housing bolt 90% out Other then that it seemed fine. More shaft play back and forth. So hopefully I can get it to mtq to have a look at it. My brother was saying whats the point of having a inline oil filter for the turbo when I service it every 5k.
