Ok so youtube is being a *beep* and will not load my video. So I have a pic. Is this excessive oil that could have caused it to rub. A fanny hair of play up and down and back and forth.8c36884c09fc8563d23ab64e43a7ee3c.jpgc746cdc0cf2d0925ce3f48a0e9104dee.jpgtime for catch can maybe?

Watch "Gtx3576r rubbing on front cover" on YouTube

f*cked.

I doubt it would be the oil that you can see as that looks like a "normal" amount...

My theory is that sometimes the piping connection to the turbo doesn't have enough flex and it can eventually put enough sideways pressure on the compressor housing causing it to hit the edge of the compressor wheel blades... but that's only a guess.

Love your vids bizkets.

I remember seeing about the same amount of oil around the front of my turbo when I hadn't checked it in a long time.me turbo still going strong.

Very strange considering you say there is not much shaft play

Brad your turbo sounds exactly like Don's and the fact it's probably well within spec for shaft play and the fact it's just "rumbling"

I had a feel of Don's and it was definitely something suss in the shaft/bearing set but not out of spec

what it is I can't say unless it's stripped but you have to try pretty hard to kill a new specc BB turbo .... It's either

noisy , run dry on oil, excessive heat

that's about it ....

Turbo is off. Oil line seemed slow even with the filter off. Did find a rear housing bolt 90% out2e8058259e59aad89edc29845b94c3c1.jpg

Other then that it seemed fine. More shaft play back and forth. So hopefully I can get it to mtq to have a look at it. My brother was saying whats the point of having a inline oil filter for the turbo when I service it every 5k.
