Fuel economy is definitely much better than my last couple of cars haha. i30 diesel in manual would have been a whole lot better again...but Hyundai...

Yeah you get over the brand snobbery and its quiet a nice car. Still considering buying one and getting rid of my gt4. Looks like I have two project cars now...

I heard a boosted Falcon has great fuel economy.

Anyways thanks for all the tips and suggestions guys. I will do some test drives and see where it takes me.

Thanks again for all your input.

What exactly do you mean by "coz street car". Arent they both street cars?.

Don't listen to Dan, he's jaded as fark. :spoton:

He misses the bogan special more because it was "more road friendly"  after modifying his car to be non-road friendly... What logic is that?

Also, don't mean to spark a debate (maybe I do...) but I reckon a well tuned coilover setup FG-X would easily out handle any stock VF :stirthepot:

the ve/vf chassis is just better than the fg...mostly coz Expensive Daewoo spent like a billion dollars on it back in the day. its not really apples for apples but they are direct competitors and its just the way it is. Even V8SC drivers like fabian coultard who have just gone from a Expensive Daewoo chassis to a ford chassis say its a completely different car to drive and that's with a "control" chassis, so it doesnt even make sense and is probably irrelevant to the fg vs ve/f handling debate lol....

"just better" lollllllllllllllllllllll - a billion on design & engineering, not a billion on just engineering haha. I don't think they're using space-age materials to build their chassis. V8SC chassis has almost nothing in common with the factory Falcon or Commode.

correct about the v8sc lol, you know what keif I thought should I specify a billion on the whole car not just the chassis. Nah generalisation will be enough...nope not for keif, I also had you in mind when I was thinking that. Your reputation for beinf a nit picker proceeds you..

It is "just better" though. Comparing a falcon with fully modified suspension to a stock vf pretty much says it all...bolt ons can only do so much. A good example of this, was watching a vid of a time attack race car build of an r34 gtr. They actually engineered new component's to change the suspension geometry to get rid of the inherent understeer a gtr has due to its factory geometry.

So yeah suspension geometry, chassis stiffness, sh*t like that, do make it "just better"

im really not bias having owned both, saying things like, a well setup falcon will out handle a stock daewoo is total, bias, boaganism denial....on the flip Expensive Daewoo will NEVER build an engine better than ford, no argument. Just take them both for what theh are

I just haven't seen any tests that show the geometry of the chassis or the stiffness of the chassis to be superior?
