Not everyone is mechanically savvy. I remember signs on cars growing up that would say "running in, 80kph max, overtake". Some folks think that a car has to be babied to be run in and some say thrash from the get go. There is a proper way to run in an engine depending on its application and output but it should not be done gently or excessively.

Too many variables to say do xyz and you'll be fine. Unless the engine builder gave you specific instructions use the engine in all the rpm/load points you'll expect it to perform at and don't spend too much time on any individual point. That is the beauty of the internet. More bullsh*t than the local rodeo. I learnt how to run in an engine, in various states of rebuild, from one of South Australia's leading engine dyno operators back in 2001. The procedure I gave was the road equivalent. I personally wouldn't deviate from that too much but hey, each to his own.

Same piston type? Same ring type/gap/bore finish? Same interned application/power level? Like I said too many variables for a one size fits all

I never said one size fits all. Lol what answer/s do you expect? I tell you what, you run your car in how you want and I'm do mine the way I described. Brb checking my blinker fluid. Or do they at all? Pretty sure most people just pick up the keys & drive it
