Popping her cherry

Box stock T.

Recommended Posts

Well it's been 75 days since I have updated this thread and  I'm happy to say Old Black Betty is booked in for the 14th of November for a Plazmaman Stage3 Intercooler kit.

And will be installed and retuned by a well known tuna and member of this forum:wwww:

This round of mods should comfortably and safely crack the triple ton in rwkw's.

But it's more for longevity of the engine and to do away with the heat soak issue that the stock cooler suffers from. Bonus is the removal of the factory crossover= less pipe work. Turbo side intake.

Roll on the 14th.:wild:

After this round of mods are done next on the cards is  brake rotors and pads upgrade. DBA T3's with NS 400's.

Shocks/suspension need an overhaul as well, mine are starting to feel a bit harsh and clunky (front mainly)

So it's all about maintenance.

The car has been well looked after, she's was a one owner when I bought her.

Just wear and tear issues now.

But I'm confident my tuna :wwww:will have some nice upgrade options when I'm ready to go ahead with it.

Well the time has come to upgrade the stock intercooler with a Plazmaman stage2 tube and fin 800hp kit. Stealth black finish which will look very tidy in the engine bay.

Drop Old Black Betty off to JetStar

tomorrow arvo for him to install the kit and retune her, should make the triple hundred quite easily...

And just in time for the warmer weather. No more heat soak..:wwww:

Well as predicted old Black Betty didn't disappoint.

Results: 315rwkw's at 902 nm's of torque. The new cooler worked perfectly and fitted like a glove, no cutting required which I was wrapped about.

Jet said the install went without a hitch and loves working on black betty.

His very words. Hahaha

So I'm in da club. (300+)

Which is a bonus really because the car is well behaved, the tune is set up for strong off the bottom through to mid range hit. Which is a perfect street car set up in my opinion, Which has been the main aim all along.

Next on the cards is a bit of test run with a muffler delete and hunt down a bit more free flowing exhaust and do a rotors and pads upgrade.

So in closing a huge thanks to JetStar.

You forgot about this one :launch:

Oh and this one too :3gears:

Haha try out a 2nd gear skid on the brake (assuming jet allowed this in the tune) and then change to third and hold it flat until it grips!
