The more I think about it was it pretty close to the limiter. Couldn't really look at the gauge to see what rpm it happened at, but I was running it pretty long on both gear shifts. Following close behind a R33 GTR if ya get my drift.

So it probably was the boost cut at the end of the rev range.

Some more testing on a cooler day will reveal more me thinks.

See how it goes.

Yeah he was already at 80km's+ when I turned onto the road. He was only a car length in front when we backed off.

But behind is behind.

That's second place right.

Finally got a bit of time to do a

throttle body clean and checked and cleaned all spark plugs.

They all were a nice light grey colour except one was a little darker.

So a quick swap out with a spare fresh identical plug/ regapped was put in.

A quick oil level check, still spot on Full.

Definitely has cleaned up a slightly crappy idle issue.

Next on the cards is a new O2 sensor and check all turbo to manifold bolts and then throw it on the hoist at the workshop for general look over to see what may need attention.

Check diff fluid so on and so forth.

Haha yeah good work. Usually sorting a rough idle in a Falcon is:

Step 1: go grey
Step 2: become alcoholic
Step 3: learnt to live with rough idle

Glad you got that idle sorted easily.

Car seems alot more responsive as well.

Maybe just a placebo effect eitherway,I'm just glad it's a lot better behaved at the lights and when sitting in the driveway after some boosted driving.

Im definitely Step 1.

Definitely not Step 2.

Step 3 is a tuned/ modified falcon thing.

But it can be sorted by a game of elimination. Or just install hot cams then there's a reason for lumpy idle.

A bit puzzled, yesterday I replaced two lost turbo bracket bolts.

The bracket that has the wastegate actuator on it. Farkn fun that was to get to. But got it done.

Now after taking it for a spirited thrash on the way home last night it start hitting a backfire and smoke kick out the back. 4000 -5000RPM on full boost.

I have replaced coils with genuine units recently.

Just under half of a tank of fuel, so hoping it's not surge issues.(255 walbro with small pot drop in set up)

Im gonna try a set of SK20R7 spark plugs.

315 rwkw's on 14.5 psi.

8 psi garrett actuator.

Any ideas on what it could be would be well received.
