Everyone says this will cause Overboost so I took it for a drive to try and activate Limp mode so I would know when it happens and what I'm dealing with rather than finding it all out in the middle of woop woop. Boost seemed to peak at 13psi (OBDII-android device) gunning it in 2nd or 3rd but once peaked it wouldn't boost past 3psi until the engine was shut off, no codes or lights. Made all the regular noises and ran Perfectly but with the power of an n/a xr6 and without the push back into the seat. Is this what normally happens or am I not thrashing it hard enough? Doesn't seem so bad. Also has full exhaust, turbo side intake, stage2 PW Intercooler. Never Tuned Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/91834-fg-does-overboostlimp-home-mode/ Share on other sites

If you just drive it off boost it will get the tuner fine Do you understand what the problem with over boosting is ? Ever heard of the word "LEAN" ? And by the sounds of it you have just tried to blow your engine up a few times If your lucky limp mode may have saved you 2 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/91834-fg-does-overboostlimp-home-mode/#findComment-1584149 Share on other sites

I wouldnt be relying on an engine light to come on to tell me there is a problem or ive pushed it too far. Pretty original thinking however 1 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/91834-fg-does-overboostlimp-home-mode/#findComment-1584162 Share on other sites
