I have attached some pictures of the lumes and wiring. I am aware that the aftermarket doesn't have the memory module like the original but hopefully someone can help me get the electronic adjustment working. This is the original that I have removed purple, blue, and red are for power mirror and green and brown for indicators. This is the aftermarket. Unsure of the colour match to original and yes there are two more wires not in this shot foe the indicators. Cheers.

Looks like the after market mirror does not have the motor inside it to move the mirror around, or there is no indicator in there. I think you could migrate the motor from the old mirror to the new one. Use the old loom as well, but you would need to tranplant the connector/plug too. If you want to help people who never got any help, you're more than welcome to Your advice here is sound. The replacement mirror is a lame duck, clearly, with only 3 wires

You can just plug the three in to run the motor from memory the green and brown ones are for indicator just disregard them. Had this problem when I upgraded to mirrors with indicators when I put the fgx front on my fg ute had to run the wires from the quarter panel blinkers to power the indicators on the mirrors.

I am catching up on the older stuff now. If the motor keeps winding all the way down, it sounds like you might have the wiring incorrect. Maybe swapped the pins during the transplant? Did you transplant the motor and loom @plonker04? Tagged you since you have't been on since the beginning of December. Hoping that by tagging you, it will email you a notification.
