Came here to say this.

I mean what other reason could be given for someone who asks to be convinced of doing something?

I've been sitting on the fence with this same issue as well and the man issues that have stopped me from going for e85 are 1: that I only drive my car a couple of times per week so a tank of fuel lasts about a month and I'm not sure of the effect on your fuel system of having e85 laying about that long. And 2: the nearest united servo to me is half an hours drive away. No way I'm driving that far each time I need fuel.

To help you out with reason 1. My car has had e85 in it for over 2 years now I've never drained it out only ever cleaned filters and it sits for 3 weeks at a time in the shed whilst I'm at work. Come home from work every month start it up and haven't had any problems at all. But I also redid my entire fuel system with Teflon no rubber in it. I've also ran it on 6 month old e85 out of jerry cans testing on the Dyno and it was fine. People that have problems are people that take short cuts when converting.
