Hi there. I have a 2005 ba xr6t and have an issue with the car heating up fast when towing up hill.

The car is modified, and used to behave fine, just changed recently.

I have changed the thermostat

I tried turning ac on and fan to full and only the passengers side engine fan is turning on.

Should the drivers side fan be turning on with the other, or is it heat related and only turn on when much hotter?

Never noticed a single fan go, I'm pretty sure it's always both.  Sounds like it anyway...maybe try grabbing a fan from a wrecker if you can't see any wiring issues.  They are easy to change out, just a bit of trim needs to be removed from memory, around the bonnet latch I think.  I've taken mine out and put it in a bunch of times and it's not hard if you look for the screws etc.  The fan itself is held in place only by two bolts at the top, and it only slips into the lower mounts that you can't reach.  Just make sure you remember to PLUG IT BACK IN hahaha.  I was driving along in slow traffic and overheating one day...soon figured out why.

Also I never had them engage before I had a custom tune done, which obviously lowered the minimum threshold that makes the fans come on.
