Hard runs through the twisties and hills they perform brilliantly. Set I had on prior (OEM) smoked like a stoner after a downhill chase. Is this something that is placed on the rear of the pads to prevent squeal?

A small amount only of course.

I put the red stuff on the back of mine and the ultimates squeal to no end when doing light brakings. Driving me bonkers lately. Ultimates still braking like a champ, but those light applications of the brakes in peak hour traffic................

Might be more to do with caliper and pad than the goo.
