Yep I comp test every turbo before I tune it so I know it's health status before I start and this is all very typical ( 165-170 ) I've even had some low comp 155's that go well but you have a time bomb with 330rwkw off an N/A imho

even with a good timing scale its still not a great state to work with the stock N/A donk and hence you will find 5 and 6 showing signs of unhappiness

It's a shame there's dodgy people out there who sell you what you think is a true xr6 turbo but instead it's got an NA motor.

Very disappointing, having spent all this money believing you could get to a certain point only to find out you can't.

So next thing is what differences are their between the NA and Turbo engine internally? Pistons are a different shape to change compression? Head chamber different size? Different rods?

Valves/pistons/rods/head and iirc cam phasors are different also mate

on the up side a clean low k wrecker long engine can be had for ~4k

Well this sucks! Feel for you buddy.
Presume you bought privately and not through a dealer?

Surprised your tuner didnt pick this up during the first tune.

I think Ford are still selling brand new fg shorts for $3k. Hope you get it fixed.

Engine number is on the right side of the block near the bell housing, engine number is normally the last part of the Vin number, pretty sure it's the valves, pistons and rods that are different internally

Man that blows! Could be an excuse to get a new motor built while you're at it though? Silver linings and all that...
