Bought it through a ford dealer here in Perth back in 2010. Car had 30000 on it when. The car started life somewhere over east so I can only assume it had the motor changed over there before making it's way over here for some unsuspecting person aka me! The dealer is no longer in business so I can't even go and speak to them. So now I'm looking at options. I don't really want to go a fully built motor, so it would be either a FG XR6 turbo long motor. Or if I could find one for decent price an FG F6, but I'd rather not spend a packet on an engine though. So I'll start doing some research and see what I can come across. If anyone knows of an engine either XR6T or F6 around let me know. Spewing though cos I see everyone else with similar mods with fantastic power and torque. I was hoping after spending all this cash I'd be in the same boat.

Not all motor checking services do this but the good ones will and cross reference against stock capacities for these reasons

Its a good 30-40 minute drive to the nearest servo. One day though. Is there anyway to tell the difference between the NA head and the turbo head without pulling it apart? Google it for details. Your machinist will be able to get the parts cheaper than other advertised "kits". With all of the inevitable extras it would still only come to $4k tops if you can r&r the engine and assemble it yourself. Although I don't have first hand experience with them, there are some success stories on this website for a reputable engine builder/s if you can't do it yourself. That's just me though and you obviously need to consider your individual situation. All the best mate.
