you need to think about it this way kyle, this is no way a viable project for ford, many thought it wouldn't even happen. They literally did this just because they wanted to, to give the die hards one last thing to dream about owning. ONLY enthusiasts will buy this car, its been done on whatever shoe string budget they could get, coz to ford US its like flushing money down the toilet, its nothing but passion on ford aus behalf and were lucky to get anything at all...

Agree with you Barnz.  I think it's only happening thanks to passionate workers inside for Aus, probably arguing their case to Ford HQ the whole way.  And even then they have to raid the parts bin to avoid needing to go through new crash testing and other development costs.  Why not try and get the best of everything that's been fitted so far and stick it on the turbo Barra and S/C 5L.  Most of the budget is probably the engine retune and associated emissions testing.  I'm only guessing though.

Red Brembos are so passé, I agree ;)

spot on with raiding the already engineered stuff from the "parts bin" and spending what little they had on engine development and sprint related asthetics. Really hope they choose a good tyre as it really makes a difference in the media testing circus, of course most owners will change them when the time comes

Nice car.

But f*ck Ford Australia, why would you pay extra to greedy dealers that will turn around and screw you in poor service.

Sorry FordAustralia, were I was once a one eyed supporter of you. Now I cannot stand you.

f*ck off and die.

Don't believe this is a "fg" spec engine. With wider tyres, more grip & the same gearbox, the only way you can make more power while not exceeding torque limits is to spin the engine more. So if have to think the springs & rods are a tad better again? And with the extra flow due to revs, would you require a bigger turbo?

Yeah pretty easy to tune a bit higher, look at what the aftermarket does with them even without changing parts.  Ford can change tune too, they just need to keep it restrained to lower the chance of warranty claims.
