Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that Ford have given the turbo 6 a "worthy" sendoff...but I, personally, find it ugly and really not all that exciting. And that's the FG-X as a whole for me. People sit there and say "yeah but everyone said that about the FG when it first came out"...not so for me. I still remember the first time I saw an FG GT at a car show when it was first released...I thought it was car porn! I even bought and FPV t-shirt and have previously posted the photos I took of it.

I'd hoped the FG-X would have grown on me, but it just hasn't. The sticker pack on the Sprint looks like an afterthought. At least they used different rims I guess...but I dunno, it's just not winning me over. I get the appeal of the rspec suspension, launch control etc on the turbo 6...but meh.

Dan's opinion is slightly skewed by his sort of recent experiences with his previous Ford.

We get it, you're not a fan of Ford anymore.

One comment saying you dislike it is enough, you've made your opinion clear :)

The ONLY thing I dislike about this car is the weird stickers... the rest is pretty farkin' awesome, if you ask me :P FG-X FTW!

I don't think there many people on this forum that like stickers from Ford in general :) Dan is just a little more jaded than the average Ford consumer :bliss:

I kind of like how ford have gone about the sprint series and who knows I'd probably go and look at one but it still feels dated the interior and that's a massive part for me

My previous post has very little to do with my recent experience with Ford. I don't think I used that as a basis for any of the points I discussed. I'm the first to admit that Ford produce a mean motor in these cars. The turbo 6 and the blown V8 are both excellent in their own rights. Adding the Rspec running gear and wider rears to the turbo 6 for a last hurrah is great, and something that really should have happened before now. New rims and lip spoiler are cool. But I'm with JET, you've got cool new features (to the Falcon lineup)...but yet still essentially the same car from 8 years ago.

I'll still always appreciate these cars for what they are, I still love the barras and will come to cruises and go "ohhhh, ahhhhh" over modded examples...they're awesome cars in their own right. I respect them for what they are, but none of that detracts from the fact that I think the FG-X is ugly as sin.

I agree, they are far behind what they could be.

Power and preformance - I stand that the W507 was a great thing, as its a street legal high KW car as is. No mods needed. its at the top of the list, maybe too far for a failing motor company to reach for, but just saying that more could have been done. The Barra has so much potential, they could have done more to make a better car around it.

Aesthetics/tech - I can go and buy a Hyundai with more features than a new ford. it really is poor. Mazda 6 is a great example of how much you can have in a car.

Dont get me wrong, I LOVE my 08 FG, but it is far from an advanced bit of kit.

Have more, but have to work :)

To each his own so whatevs.

Obviously yes the interior feels similar....but they still tried. It has a better icc system and fresh trim design, different cluster and then different front + rear cosmetics. It just doesnt have fancy boy tricks that some people seem to think is the most important thing in the world. I like to think of it as less things to go wrong in the future :P

Its a decent step up for us FG boys....maybe not so much from the mkii. I think on Fords limited budget that they have done an awesome job...as you say it is a last hurrah....so why the f*ck should they make a completely different car and not just make each component as best as possible to deliver the best FG they've made to date. Of course the cosmetics part is the big debate....but I for one think it has the potential to look mean I.e. the computer rendered pics with the lowered suspension and fancy lighting lol

Remember its still a FG people....what about the ones who bought a series 3 AU or BF.....those cars had f*ck all changes yet no one complained about the "outdated interior"...or maybe they did cause I didnt forum back then hahaha
