I'll do the following calculations for a stock 245/35R19 style tyre.At 100km/h the RPM would be as follows in 6th gear of a ZF:- Factory 2.73 diff: around 1530rpm- 3.45 replacement: around 1940rpmEDIT: since you said manual... I don't know which manual you mean, but I'll show you both- For 100k/h the RPM for 6th gear of a T56:- Factory 2.73 diff: around 1380rpm- 3.45 replacement: around 1740rpm and for 100k/h the RPM for 6th gear of a TR6060:- Factory 2.73 diff: around 1220rpm- 3.45 replacement: around 1540rpmAs the first gear in a ZF is so tall, changing out of a 2.73 to pretty much anything bigger will make it useless on the street. If you're changing from a ZF to a manual, then it's definitely worth putting in a fairly bigger ratio diff. Would make 2nd through 6th more useable and take some strain off the drive line Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/91621-fg-turbo-zf-6-spd-diff-ratio/#findComment-1577651 Share on other sites

I should have been clearer. I have a 6 speed zf my diff whine is annoying it needs to be replaced . I have been wondering if its worth changing to a 3.23 or 3.45 ratio . Is there a noticeable difference ? Does turbo load up good ? If its modded all it will give is more wheel spin.
