Hey all

Picked up an fg xr6 turbo and I've got a slight issues I can't for the life of me figure out

When I am slowing down to a stop or even just slowing to turn, when the auto changes back down to first gear the whole car jerks forward and I get a slight clunk.

If I accelerate while it is doing it, it really hits hard and bangs into gear.

Driving it in manual mode if I change to first at around 20ks it's fine, anything under that speed and it'll jolt.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

It's very common unfortunately. My fg does it and there's a number of threads on the forums too. I think there's a firmware update that helps it. Also I think it can be "tuned" out via zf tuning.I believe it's a issue in the tcm.

Took it to dtm automatics in Geelong.

They did a reset on the auto. It's helped somewhat still does it occasionally. Might have to do my next service at ford to do the firmware upgrade.

zf lurch is common, its just the box grabbing 1st as you slow to a stop. Drive it in manual in 2nd to a stop, then select 1st. Gone. I assume this is how its tuned out as well

Had this issue on my G6ET.

It had been frustrating me for ages.

Got a bit of work done at Autotech and got Spiro to do the ZF tune as well.

Now the issue is gone and I can drive with passengers asking me why it jolts :)
