If it does not activate at all check to see if your brake lights are on even when you're not pressing the brakes. If they are its a faulty brake switch and that also prevents cruise control from working Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
hpfmnst Member 57 Member For: 9y 6m 4d Posted 17/01/16 01:20 AM Share Posted 17/01/16 01:20 AM sounds like an alternator not working or charging just slightly if brushes aren't firmly pressing on rotor. if the car has done more than 250k I would say it's the alternator issue.Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
hpfmnst Member 57 Member For: 9y 6m 4d Posted 17/01/16 01:23 AM Share Posted 17/01/16 01:23 AM I just realised car just over 2 years old can't have 250k on the clock, so diregard what I said, but if every other lead fails, check the alternator. hpfmnst Member 57 Member For: 9y 6m 4d Posted 17/01/16 01:31 AM Share Posted 17/01/16 01:31 AM First thing I would do is test the battery. Go to battery place, they will use discharge unit and apply 400-600 amps for 10 sec and voltage shouldn't drop under 10V or similar. Simple, yet reliable test to see whether cell are still in good condition. Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk

I drive off and don't apply the brakes and when you turn on cruise control, it shows on the dash with both lines. When you click on the set button, the lines and the word cruise just flashes and it won't activate.Press the brake pedal at least once and then try and set cruise control. Then see what happens? As mentioned above, your brake pedal switch could be faulty and if it is, then cruise control will never set then.Just a thought. Maybe replace the brake pedal switch and see what happens. Edited 19/01/16 12:49 AM by masda74
