I have installed a blow off valve with a trumpet. I can hear the air release it does not come out of the trumpet. It is only coming out of the vents on the side? I took the trumpet off and blew through it and it whistled. I ran the car without the trumpet and it makes the exact same noise with it on. What can cause the trumpet not to work? I have adjusted the tension and installed different springs with no luck. Can anybody help????

watch it basher, I know one of the boys in TSV and he is ruthless and will ticket you without a glance for that. My friendly advise remove it before you cross paths.

I assume you have it on the correct way around ?

I installed a GFB Stealth FX over the weekend and noted that it was to be installed opposite to how the factory Bosch bov was installed ... just a thought ?

Cheers,

B

Around the wrong way? It can only go on one way? I unpluged the old blow off valve and the pipe closest to the firewall is where I connected it and blocked the other pipe up. Is this correct? This blow off valve does not have a return pipe.

you need to put it on the hose that comes off thi throttle body end and block off the air filter end

????? I installed it on the end closest to the firewall. (The shorter pipe). Not the pipe that goes under the intake. Which I thought was the return pipe. Is this the correct one?? Maybe a pic if someone has one.

Curious: are BOVs illegal?

Blow off valves are only illegal if they vent the boost pressure into the atmosphere. If they are plumbed back in everything is ok.
