Worse case scenario is I have just bought the new pump and gears for the new engine if needed???

Not hard to remove the big end caps and check the bearing when you remove the old pump housing and gears If your big ends survived it will be all good

If it's stuffed it's going to cms next year sometime or sadly maybe the year after all depends on the house renovation progress. Atomic oil pump is better in every way type it in on youtube they give you a run down
