So rather than make a new thread, I figured I'd just ask here. Ford has been using GTX Prof 15w40 in my FG. Is that known as Castrol GTX Modern Engine in the red bottle? I had a look online and that's what comes up but it doesn't even say if it's semi or full synthetic. Should I just keep using this or tell them to use something else?

What oil is everyone using/recommend?

Woah before an oil storm starts up,

I'll just say that ford recommend a semi synthetic oil

A lot of people use full synthetic

It's your choice just as long as you buy good brands and the right viscosity you will be fine

Usually once you pick a brand just stick to it

Haven't read this thread but looks useful:

And here's one to mess with your head re full/semi synthetic:

I'm none the wiser but have decided to alternate between semi and full synthetic nulon 10W-40

Everyone will have a different opinion on oils.

Mainly because we cant actually see whats going on inside and even if I run crap mineral for a while it wont reduce performance or have an affect for a while
