Hi iv got a fg xr6 turbo mk1 im wanting to make abit more power. The car is making 235rwkw at the moment I wanna make about 100rwkw more so about 330rwkw. Safe as an everyday car without braking the piggy bank can anyone help with what needs to be done and how much it would cost

330 would be pushing it too I'd say.

Without going a new turbo or E85 you'd be aiming for around 300, with anything over a bonus, depending on the mods you get, your engine and your tuner.

The $2.5k mentioned above would get you power (maybe not to the 300)

The $5.5k would get you safer, more stable power (closer to or above the 300)

edit: going cheaper the 1st round ends up costing more in the long run as you replace things you fitted the 1st time and need to get a retune every time you make a change - do it once, do it right

:Welcome2FordXR6t: and enjoy your stay.

I believe that no one has replied as this question has been asked a few times.

At the top right, there is an option to do a forum search. Give that a go and see what results come up.

Have a look in this section of the forum for more info

If you plan on keeping the standard FG snail, just remember that not all cars will hit the 330rwkw mark

It is different for every car. My car for example hit 310rwkw. Others have hit 320rwkw.

If you really want 330rwkw or more, then you may need to change the turbo.

A decent inter cooler is required. there have been a few wars about which inter cooler to get, but that is down to personal preference.

The Johnny Tig cooler seems to be the new trend. :)

Decent size Injectors like the ID1000 is preferable to tuners to tune. not to say that smaller injectors wont do the job.

Some cars require the valve springs to be done. you will only find out at the time of the tune, so save an extra $1200 if you are in WA. :P

There are a few other things to be done, but I will let you do the research. ;)

Straight up my advice injectors, inter cooler piping (preferably new inter cooler kit) process west plazmaman etc and at least a high flow cat but then again preferably a dump pipe and highflow cat that should get you over 300 dunno about 330 though 300-315 would be my bet :) of course this all needs a good custom tune and the tuner you pick can make a big difference

Hey Mate, we have just gotten 330KW @ 15psi BP98 out of one of our stage 2 FG turbo highflows. Direct bolt on :)

Not exactly setting the world on fire when a stock one can go very similar at 15psi in the right tuners hands/decent hardware used.
