The neutral switch stops the car from starting in gear.. As I stated earlier, the manual harness is different to the auto harness. The manual one is already has the neutral switch bridged (Joined) and this has not been done in your auto hanress. The car needs to see this circuit for the car the start with the key....

yep, do you know where on the auto harness I can find it? or do I have to start taking out the gearbox to get to it?

Yes correct, if the old loom is intact down at the trans just join them together at the old white plug, or trace them up to the main connector in the engine bay and bridge them there.

yeah we just cut what we needed off the old 4 speed connector, ill bridge them down the bottom and up top to be safe I guess. hopefully works out!

the white plug is earth or? power?

No point doing both. I would do it up top.

yeah you got a point..

is there any way to find wires without taking off the entire trans again? or do you think ill be able to see around it just a heads up so I know what to expect in the morning
