Hey all

Im currently fitting up a fg xr6 turbo log manifold to my bf xr6 turbo.

Got a few questions.

1) anybody have a factory fuel rail to suit for sale?

2) im looking to upgrade my intercooler setup. Whats on the market that will fit good? Will it have provisions for boost sensor?

3) whats a good blow off valve?

4) looking to upgrade the standard actuator. Whats good here?

Im new to xr6 turbo's so need abit of guiding in choices.

Cheers all

Rohan

1) Fg turbo rails are a dime a dozen. Looking at like $50 when you find one

2) any b series hot side will still fit, and most of the cold side will fit. I used an elbow off the FG TB and then an alloy bend to the B series cooler kit piping at the passenger headlight.

Boost sensor is on the FG TB elbow

3) unsure

4) Turbosmart is good. People who say it's bad are people who don't know how to set it up / preload it

Got the fuel rail from a wrecker for $100

Regarding the intercooler setup looking at a complete new kit I.e a hdi etc

The kit on mine is all stock piping with a sh*tty monza cooler runs all piping on the drivers side.

Thanks for the info mate will look into the turbosmart gear

Whilst the HDI kit works OK for its price point I suppose...your not going to like its VL spec fitment. I would personally spend a little more and get a more reputable kit.

For me it would be Jonny Tigs no cut cooler.

Fella has a B series so he is going to need cutting if he gets one of Jon's coolers.

I carried out a FG manifold conversion/fuel system(used FG throttlebody) a couple weeks ago on a BF and it had said cooler fitted....tight fit is all I can say and IMO fitment was a little less than desirable....spacers are needed on a few parts or some fine trimming carried out on areas one wouldn't expect.

3psi pressure drop across the core also and I can only assume that's normal for this cooler?

Tig does some great gear.

Bov is up to you, vented isn't legal and plumb back is, dual port is best of both worlds and has blanking caps available so legal is possible.
