Has anybody been fined for playing with their Sat Nav whilst driving? I am happy if the answer is no because I pick mine up to press the button for audio directions when driving. It may not be as obvious as playing with a phone but I dare say it's a similar issue - driver distraction. If they push this line of thinking they'd have to ban changing CD's in the stereo and fumbling around for the Coke can.PAH

Texting yes because they take their eyes off the road for extended periods of time. The two arguments I see thrown around for talking is firstly, your hand off the steering wheel. Okay, so we should also ban car stereos, air conditioning, window controls, manuals, tip Tornio autos, etc.Secondly is that it is the conversation, well we must ban talking in cars then! And if it is truly the conversation then why is hands free allowed?Like I said earlier, texting, etc. on the phone I understand banning but talking on the phone makes zero sense to me when it comes to the bans. Absolutely useless lot here. Most people can't handle the simple task of breathing in oxygen and driving a car at the same time.No-one can multi-task here.I'm dodging Uber drivers all the time. Saw two of them driving on the wrong side of the road last night. Two in one night.Car smash repair places do very well here.

Yes texting is definitely worse. But for some reason people do drive better on a hands free than they do while holding a phone to their ear. I used to think I was better than it all. I was chronically texting and emailing while driving because I was in the middle of nowhere and chances of seeing another car were slim to none. So I'd catch up on Facebook or emails in the few tiny spots I knew I'd get phone signal.Never did encounter another car. But I lost a wing mirror on a cows head once I was that close to the f*cking thing.Cows aren't exactly sneaky creatures and don't spring out of the bushes like kangaroos do.Scared the sh*t out of me.Edit:And on the original topic a fella I work wth got done for using his satnav at a red light. Probably wouldn't of even been noticed but his foot slipped off the break pedal and he lurched forward about 2 feet.
