Hi guys I'm new to the forum finally ended up buying Ba xr6 turbo a few months back as a project I'm in the process of fixing all the little Ba gremlins so I can get it registered Atm I'm trying to repair the central locking the car won't lock itself and stay locked seems to be intermittent locks when it wants for a few minutes then unlocks and sometimes won't lock at all it won't lock with remote, key ,or the button on the dash And also the interior light stays on car only locks when interior light dims out ???????

So far I've ended up changing every door actuator including the boot with no luck changed every door wiring loom as I found a exposed wire in the one on the c pillar fixed it still nothing cleaned all connections with contact spray didn't help nothing seems to be helping

For some strange reason every time you open and close the rear left door very slowly it seems to dim out the interior light for a bit and then after a few minutes the interior light will come back on and the doors will unlock I've changed the actuator on this door twice but nothing it's really doing my head in I have been told it might be the the bcm module but I'm sort of hoping it's not if anyone has any info or has had this same problem any advice will be much appreciated as I'm losing my mind lol cheers

I think it happens a bit. My 2004 BA XR6T had it after really unseasonal heavy rain one day. It went away by itself - I suspect some water leaked in somewhere in a door and shorted somewhere and after things dried out - its been okay ever since.

Hi thanks yeah from what I'm reading on the net seems to be a big issue with the b series was hoping it was water somewhere but have found nothing but ill keep looking next step will be to remove the icc and check the wiring there fingers crossed

Maybe the rubber button that pushes in when you close the the door might be farked.

Not a whole lot of help here, but how I replaced the broken cog in an actuator last year: http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/89014-photo-essay-central-locking-repair

You can get repair kits via eBay.

Ahh dude, you being a Karnt... he said he has no idea and has come to the forum for assistance.

I doubt he will do the running thing, cause he has been on the forum for 9 months.

Ohh and you are a Karnt cause you got me in suspense now, especially this early in the morning.

I know you got the answer, but I can't think....

Sounds like the door sensor/switch/actuator is not tuned properly????

SPIT IT OUT ALREADY!!!!

The car thinks a door is open? If it was this it'd do the three quick, hey idiot you pushed the button before closing the door so I'll alert everyone in the area to your shame beeps? Or if the sensor is in and out, does it then do as descirbed?

IE. the bcm gets a initial signal of all doors closed, so locks without the three beeps of shame, then the signal becomes door open, the bcm then unlocks all doors as a default because you can't have doors opened and locked.

Go around the car. Open each door one at a time and press in the door open/closed sensor (bad terminology I know) and see if the all effect the interior light equal. If they do, try again as it may be intermittent.
