Rims/tyres/offsets

Hi All

Id like to run 275's on the rear and 235 or 245's on the front, invo nitto's for the rubber (seems to be a fav on here)

Reason I'm doing it is I dont particular like it when you are going up a hill in the wet, not pushing it, and the arse end of the ute decides that it wants to be in the other lane because the auto decides to change gears...

I've got an BF Octane ute, shes pretty stock, so the black should look nice, shame I cant get something bigish on the stock BF alloys, but what can you do.

I'm assuming the 18 x 9's will fit on the front and 18 x 10 on the rear?

Just not sure if the offsets will work.

Id prefer to stick with the stocks (as pretty as black would be) to save some coin, but from what I've read on here it seems that 245's, in theory, are the biggest one should put on the stock rims?

Plan on visiting wheeldeal tomorrow and have a chat, but like to be armed with some info

Legally 245s is the widest you should put on a 8" rim (I.e. stock Falcon rims). But there are some people who have put 255s and even 265s - but I personally wouldn't.

For your ute I would go 18x9 +20 and the 18x10 +20 rears. Fronts should be pretty much flush....rear will be close to flush (think optimum fit on ute is 10.5+20?) but I haven't got a ute, so not 100% on that one.

Wait for someone with ute to confirm....can't remember if it was bamk2f6tornado or someone who had pics of their ute with decent flushness

Something like 19x9.5+22 and 19x10.5+20 ??? but his was B series and looked good.

Use a tyre calculator to figure out the corresponding offsets that are similar to his I.e. yours will be 9" F and 10" R therefore diff offset needed for same fit

I have 9.5+22 front and 10.5+22 on Tornado and they are flush and don't require rolling if tyres are slightly stretched. 245front 275 Rear. You can bring those out to +12 if you want lots of poke and guard rolling. A 10.5+35 ish Rear would be perfect for max tyre width though. Attached a pic so you can see what it looks like.

Going off that the +20's will be pretty close. If I put in an offset of +16 for the front its pretty bang on according to willtheyfit.com

See if they do an 11" rim would be killer lol But yeh.....seems like 18x9+16 and 18x10+16 will be same outer position.

According to tyre calculator....apparently you can fit a 295 or 305 on a 10" rim (but only in 18s). So do that lol 265/35/18 fronts and 305/30/18

Or be sensible and go 255 + 285s (apparently you don't want too much width difference between front & rear - 20 or 30mm is the max you want to go before handling becomes affected. or so I've been told).

I'm test fitting 265s on the front of mine this w/e (18x9.5+20) see how much she pokes. Then I'll run 265s all round (or maybe 285 rears if the clearance is there). Also depends on what sizes are available in quality rubber.

This is 19x9.5+22with 235/35 front

19x10.5+22 with 275/30 rear. My guards are untouched.

My personal choice would be 18x10+20 on all 4 corners. You will have to run a little bit of front tyre stretch probs a 245 front and 295rear

On the rear you have a choice. Go the +20 if your after a flushish look to match the front and aren't worried about fitting massive 300+wide tyres. Or go for the +35's if you want less poke but lots of rubber.

Punch my rim and tyre details into the rim calculator, compare with the above and go from there. I have have no problems with scraping at all. On the front I have about 12mm from my rim the the suspension and on the rear bucket loads of room inside but none on the outside.

So basicly all of the offsets will fit on the rear and all sizes will fit on the front with the appropriate tyres bar the 18x10+38

Also when you go there and have a chat they will most likely tell you they won't fit.

Most wheel places iv talked to in the past seem to think falcons can only take 8.5" with sh*tty stock offsets.

I got sick of people telling me they wouldn't fit and recommending some sh*thouse alternative. When ringing for prices I ended up telling them I had a mint as skyline haha
