To be completely honest it'd probably be nicer to just knock it all out, brick it up and put some nice doors in properly. That way it'd look like it's supposed to be there and tie in better with my plans for the rest of the house. 1 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/91333-new-build-home-renovations-gardens-garages-sheds/page/140/#findComment-1629898 Share on other sites

Place timber against the glass, gyprock over the top. Double check that the glass brick wall it's a structural wall that is holding the roof up. If not you can knock the out and open the whole room up. But to be honest, I prefer being able to close it off. It's more useable than having it all open, coz it means if the missus is watching tv in the main living area I can be using my computer or playing guitar or whatever in that living room. 2 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/91333-new-build-home-renovations-gardens-garages-sheds/page/140/#findComment-1629925 Share on other sites

Looks like I'm getting a house peeps...unless something unforeseen comes up when they run my final credit check or something... Funny that, because for every cent you valued it higher I would have paid less mortgage insurance. 1 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/91333-new-build-home-renovations-gardens-garages-sheds/page/140/#findComment-1629994 Share on other sites

I laughed too because we are having a look at extending the mortgage to do a couple of upgrades. Bank has an online thing to give current house value so you can determine what equity you can borrow against. The tool predicts a value range between x and y. The gap between x and y is $120k on our place. I asked them which value they use to determine current value, and they said "well, what do you reckon it's worth?"
