I dont know what im looking at and would like a second pair of eyes so I emailed them and told them that I would like a independent building inspection done. I know we are within our rights and I know builders do not like it but if there have done the job right then they will let us and have nothing to hide. They will point out any major issue to u on the spot and the builder will have to acknowledge it and note it down. By memory the builder will have paperwork to tick off as u walk around the job which u both would have to sign after? Think possitive mate, there mite be a light turning on in your favor here ? Feel free to ask any questions and ill answer as much as I can.

I hate fitting the stuff as it scratches very easy .the reason you may not have any stamps on the glass is that it could be laminated glass which gets cut to size in a lot of smaller companies and not at a glass factory .we cut it as well to size and do not have to add a sticker . Ask the builder what glass he used brand like GJames or viridian etc .ps that sort of glass is so expensive that if they have not used it they would save a sh*t load as it nearly triples the price of a window and sometimes even more For fire areas yes we also use alluminium mesh or even stainless Can you send me a picture of the yellow stickers of the glass as thatvwill have all the information on it .it will tell you if it is toughened glass (tg) or if it is float glass or even laminated .it will also tell you the type of glass and thickness . Also who ordered the glass and who cut it and the manufacturer .ps all wet areas like bath rooms have to have a grade safety glass and also every door and window that is 300 mm from a door . There are so many rules and regulations but I can help you if you want .pm me Edited 19/07/16 12:20 PM by k31th posts merged. There are some windows with stickers on and some with nothing. Next time im onsite ill get some photo's. Like you said we paid for Low E glass to reduce the heat and glare on north facing windows and the one over the pool and unsure if that's what I got. I received an email from builder saying it was ok for me to obtain a independent building inspection. WOW I was excepting a nasty email back saying NO and why. I have friends who are builders who I could use but will go with someone else and getting a full written report. I'm not worried about the money I want everything done right. Im looking forward to getting this done.

I've put it down to 2 things. 1 - His done everything his meant to and to code or 2 - He knows I know that I'm within my rights to get one. Either way it's a peace of mind that it can be inspected before the gyprock goes up.
