Guest bathroom shower screen is in!  They've been cleaning up the glass and removing protective plastic on things so it's looking awesome!

Noticed this again though, not sure if I posted it before but it's water sitting in the brickwork.  There's a valley on the roof above this which concentrates the flow and the gutter doesn't seem able to disperse it.  Might need another downpipe here or something.  Driving in the garage to see this in front of my car all the time is not good.  Would promote damp in the interior too.

The real question is would it cause any structural issues?  We've already raised it a couple of months ago but they didn't seem to be concerned about it.

Oh yeah spent 2 grand on light fittings, fark me.  Not even any globes in them!  And only covered the main kitchen/dining/master/bathroom lights.

Place is looking good Steve, keen to come see it next break. Apparently the girls have organised to look at Melanie's home decorating tomorrow... If I find out you have removed the plastic of the new microwave, remember, I know where you live

Think she said it was a 32 litre... was going to buy a 40L but wont fit where she was going to install it in the kitchen. Ive got no idea how big it actually is physically.

And Fluff, again, must be a girl thing. She picked it, im still at work.

Why does everyone go cat6? If you run cat5/6 cable in the roof space and it comes anywhere near electrical cables, you have to have a perspex tube of at least 50mm to seperate them.

This reduces interferance in any case. Will you ever use the full network speed of cat6? I doubt it unless you have business grade servers to support those speeds. The servers have to have storage fast enough to support cat6.

I have gone cat5 for the house and it all goes to a coms rack in the garage in preparation for the nbn.

That is right, my switch is in the garage. Heat in summr causes issues during the day, but I am never at home during business hours.

Yeah the family is at home, but they wouldnt know how to make use of those transfer rates.

At one stage when I did tranfer rates from my ubuntu server (raid6) to my pc, I got up to130MB a sec.

The limitting factor was my pc's ssd.

I reckon save coin by going cat5, unless you have a specific need for cat6

cos difference is marginal, CAT 6 has better property's when it comes to electrical inductance, less loss over distance.

But you are right, 95% of people wouldn't ever notice the difference, or even get near the bandwith limit of CAT5e let alone CAT6. But may as well have the latest for minimal cost difference.
