Sweet!  Looking forward to throwing stones at the peasants that walk by down at street level?

Fark yeah pixie! You must be stoked it's all coming together!!

As for my house. Well.. I was sitting outside having a beer. When I noticed a tree blocking my view.

Official decision was made.

Tree had to go..

20150509_130125_zps0xpro2vt.jpg

Obviously that meant that I would consider getting rid of the tree in the next 5 to 10 years if I didn't sell the place first.

But then mother nature had another idea. She gave us a bit of rain and a stiff breeze and this happened

20150903_164852_zpsf5o7mqdd.jpg

This inspired me to climb the tree and have a quick look at its condition. This was when I noticed that it had previously been cut back and allowed to regrow, so all the massive limbs (15 or so metres high at max) had sprouted from the cut off stumps which had started to rot out.

So I moved into getting rid of all the tall limbs that posed significant risk to mine and my neighbours garden sheds and my cat cage and dog box.

Who said 18V chainsaws are crap?

I actually found the little 18V far easier to climb the tree with and a lot safer to use when you don't have a lot of control of where you position yourself relative to the cut.

Anyway little 18V Ryobi chainsaw has my vote for best bang for buck garden tool I've bought so far (tough choice between it and the fiskars weed puller).

Anyway with the large limbs that were a risk to property gone. Back up I went. This time with a Stihl 20" chainsaw.

Two days of hard work (both days involved afternoon naps and evening BBQ)

The 20" wasn't big enough to ever actually cut through the tree so had to cut as much as possible and finish with wedges and a big sledge.

Still have a sh*t load to clean up. But damn!

Should have taken that photo from the patio with a beer. But I f*cked my arm so I can only hold one thing at a time.

I don't doubt it Lennox. But I did it my way. And I blocked a sh*t load of wood to dry out for my fire this winter.

Hahaha yeah I've heard of those roaming kiwis offering to cut down trees for cheap.  Mate got it done at his joint, now I can park there and not have bird sheet all over my car :)

Great effort!

Wife was nagging me about the planter box in the front yard, we concreted about a year ago and I've been to lazy to plant anything.

Well yesterday I had a day off and she started again so................

Went to the Brother-inlaws and hacked some of his plants without telling him (don't worry I sent him a pic of my planter box once I was done...lol)
