This is the power output for the day. It's easy to see the cloudy parts. The next pic is the percentage of the inverter output. It only got to 91% or so today. I like having a lot of panels on the west side of the house, cos it works until late into the afternoon.

rained all day here yesterday cos of cyclone Trevor 

had 80mm

didn't see the sun all day

I think I wanna get another 10 or so panels on the eastern side of the roof. 

 

That should get it up to the 4kw mark by 830am, meaning I can crank the aircon early in summer.

My philosophy is, turn that sh*t on while the sun is smashing it so the cool down phase is covered for free

I thought that too, until I started monitoring how much it used. I use a bunch load less power just turning it on when I get home, rather than setting it to turn on during the day.
