J@ calls out a leckie to change a lightbuld in our rental properties hahaha He installed a chandelier for me once.... to be fair lol Our aircon is a huge industrial unit, but other than that we won’t have anything running through the day so solar for us has to be battery backed to make it worth it. Especially with pool pumps and everything electronic. Being able to power things during a black out is a huge priority for me. Plus our power bills in summer in a small house come to $1200 a quarter, 70% used off peak cow we’re all at work, so if we don’t have batteries solar is a total waste for us. Puff, when your youngest is at school in a couple short years, presumably you’ll go back to work? If so then through the day won’t be the peak usage anymore. For the average household where people are at work through the day and didn’t get on a good buy back rate, solar isn’t worth it IMO as most people will change houses before they pay it back or it won’t make enough of an impact on the bill. I get 9 cents for buy back, I pay 27 cents for theirs because I'm usually giving them much more than I use or buy, I like to look at it this way I now only pay 18 cents for their electricity when I'm home during the day and the suns out, everything is free having a battery is a whole different kettle of fish the solar panels are wired to the battery the house always draws from the battery if you need more power than the battery has then you import off the grid the battery system is way better cos if your battery meets your needs then it's F U to the power company also you can't use solar panels in a black out they need power from the grid to run the inverter battery system can be used in a blackout

Battery is another 10 years by itself...I just couldn't justify it.
