stripes go a storage tank again with stainless steel tank will last longer.

or switch to instant unit but you may need to upgrade your gas lines. they are great can adjust the temp with a remote if you have kids.

Haha nah man, did see yours. Was the fact that I had lots of different people saying that instantaneous gas systems are the way to go that swayed me, so your post contributed to that.

Yup, got installed this arvo...and I'm not even around to utilise it until Sunday. The missus reckons it's pretty rad though. Looks like they've done a pretty neat job.

Question though...is it a bad idea to have power cables coiled like that?

What is wrong with solar Stripes?
Same cost for unit and installation.
Free hot water.
We have had the same unit on our roof (solar heart) since we bought the house.
It works brilliantly

Solar is typically more expensive to install. Do you have natural gas where your are stripes or will you be using exchange LP Gas? If you are going 45kg bottles expect to go through about 1 bottle every 3months. More in winter less in summer obviously. You can usually get a bottle for around $100 if you shop around
^WHS. Would have been like $6k to install solar...pass.

And pretty much everyone has pretty much said that instantaneous gas hot water systems are the go.

fark you dont mess around

yer dont think cables should be coiled but ask @JETURBO can confirm
Haha well the old system shat itself yesterday (on a public holiday, of course!) so they came out and isolated it so we could still use running water...just no hot water. Said they'd come out 10:30 today and replace it.

I originally just told them to replace it with what was there before...but couldn't sleep last night and felt a little unsure about it so did a bunch of reading and based on what I read and everything everyone else was telling me I text the guy back and said I wanted a big instantaneous gas system...and now I have one. They did a pretty tidy job too!

With just you and the missus it should be nice and cheap cos you aren't reheating a few hundred litres of water every day of the week. :spoton:
