Thanks wilko your place looks great mate gotta be very happy.

I asked our security guy ages ago if I should go with a Data/Coms box. They said I wouldn't need one.

NBN in the garage Yes or No?

As I've said in my walk in I'll have home security, CCTV. Switch board and now NBN boxes.

Im having a walk through on WED with my security guy I'll ask again what they think.

We got back our electrical checklist back and a little shocked in both ways. 1 I was expecting it would cost us a lot more and 2 the price of some things.

1 data point $110 each

NBN $110

$330 to run cable from outside to inside light switch

extra light $45

keith is our go to man..........:respeckt:

My house had to have nbn distribution box as part of the build

Was $1500, but that was four data points and 4 TV points, trench to the nbn pit and then conduit from external wall to the box

I'm sure the price is way to much but it's part of the new build

Box is in the garage, and has Powerpoint next to it

I don't have a photo of mine but it is almost identical to this photo

Hills Home Hub it's called

I have a Hills Hub box aswell.

I think its a requirement for all houses built in new Greenfield sites / Estates

Fark that just f*cken pisses me off every frigging time I see a pic like that showing a NBN box in the garage.

Those bloody boxes should be banned from the world period. There is no way you can patch your network cables correctly.

At the same time the power leads cause interference.

I have no interference and internet works well.

My power switch is outside the hills hub though.

Why can't you patch the cables correctly?

If you wantto place a switch in those racks, it is hard to mount them anywhere.

If you want to place your routerwith wifi in the midle of the house it would be fine, but if you use your router as a switch then you cant.

I just hate those boxes with a passion cause the have been arround for ages.

One of my CEOs has one in his house in mandurah canals and it drives me bonkers when you want to connect 14 devices to the network.

No where to mount a 16 port switch in there.
