I went owner builder to do a major house reno, I could never sign a contract that kept me off my own property In essence, they are stopping you from seeing how they build. I took photos of everything, making sure that all the work was to the correct standards and specifications (live in cyclone area) Make sure that you inspect for any damage to the bathroom after they change the taps Either the plumber or the tiler did this to my bathroom floor, totally missed it till after the job was finished, has pissed me off every day for the past 5 years. You'd think Id do something about it hey?

Send that to the builder and ask please explain and any damage or marks the bench will be replaced. I do agree that all person should be able to go onsite when ever they like. It's us paying the way to which makes us the boss not the builder. With the amount of money we are paying we have the right to enter, check up, ask questions and take heaps of photo's. I'm onsite just about every day and whilst trades are there and sometimes not. I take in most times my tape measure, laser measure, Pencil and my good camera or phone sometimes just a walk through. I drive pass every day even twice if no one is onsite. I write down whats is going on, who is onsite and if no one is onsite. You need to keep a record. I know that the builder doesn't like it but tough titties. I have now started to email all our question as this is proof and if not answered I then ask the builder onsite followed by another email with "as discussed onsite on (Date and Time) about" before work is done. If not changed/fixed before hand then they will need to fix after the work is complete.

Also will be adding extra timber in the bedrooms to support the ceiling fans later. We have in our scope of works that the builder needs to add TV supports. The good thing is it doesn't say how many.........WIN WIN.

Would still need one on the wall though or you're limited in the number of positions.
